Educator guide for after a Jam

During the Jam

Once you click Start Jam, your students have  7 minutes to exchange questions and answers. Students write a question and then pick a peer to answer it from a list of all available players.

Students can ask as many questions as they want during the 7 mins. Once the 7 mins are up, all the questions and answers are represented in a word cloud on the main screen.

After the Jam

When the Jam ends, you should take the lead in exploring the collective output with your students. Below are 3 suggested approaches.

  • Short
Click the 3 largest words one by one to display the relevant questions and answers below the word cloud.

  • Medium
Ask your students to write down a word from the world cloud that they are curious about. If online: write in the chat. Then use the word suggestions from students to explore the word cloud and the Q&A output.

  • Long
Click “Show all” to display all the questions and answers. Then go through them in plenum to identify uncertainties and ideas worth exploring further. Make sure to allow room for reflections and comments.
    Note: This takes some time.

Download - you can download all anonymized questions and answers in an excel sheet. Your students can also choose to receive all anonymized questions and answers in an email.
